Welcome to 'Auto-Reminder', custom software by MicroSource.
'Auto-Reminder' provides a great way to keep track of infrequent dates
like birthdays and anniversaries, or hard-to-remember future events and
appointments or other dates. Each time it runs, it will tell you how many
days are left till that selected date arrives, as well as the day of the
week it falls on. For birthdays or anniversaries it will even tell you how
many years the person will be celebrating this year!
This program is unique, however, in that it automatically loads itself each
time you turn on the computer and scans all of your reminders to see what is
due. If nothing is coming up soon, you'll never even know it's there. You
can add, delete or modify any of the reminders at any time.
The program uses disk-based access, and therefore doesn't tie up any
memory as do some TSR type programs at many times the cost! It is easy to
use and features mouse support and keyboard quick-keys.
'Auto-Reminder' will also handle any other date-based reminding you may need
for recurring or one-time events in the future. It will remind you of your
appointment up to 1 year in advance, and continue to remind you each day
until the date arrives. You can turn off or delete any reminder whenever you
like. It will even scold you if you miss an appointment, and will show how
many days you missed it by.
The program even features an on-line calendar, allowing you to look and
schedule reminders for any future or past date. The calendar has no limits
as do many pre-programmed calendars. Scan backward and find the exact day
of the week you were born on! Look forward to the year 2000 and beyond!
This is a free demo version of the 'Auto-Reminder' program to see if you
like it. As a demo it is limited to 10 entries, but still retains all
the looks and features of the full version.
The program is written as 'shareware' and may be copied and distributed to
others without any restrictions. If you pass this program along, be sure to
include the four core files: Remind.exe, Install.exe, Register.txt, and
Help.txt. These must be present for proper program functioning.
The full version of 'Auto-Reminder' is available from MicroSource for
$10.00, which covers the cost of the floppy disk, postage, handling and
sales tax. It features a capacity of over 300 reminders and will sort,
print, and keep track of them flawlessly. It is set up similar to the
demo, in a Windows-like environment. The program runs equally well in DOS,
Windows 3.1, or Windows 95.
To order, send $10.00 check or money order to:
MicroSource
700 E. Washington #39
Colton, Ca. 92324
Be sure to include your name and address and allow 1 week for delivery. You
will receive 1 floppy disk (1.44 3.5" unless specified otherwise) and a
password to unlock the registered version for your use. The program can
also be sent via modem in a 'zipped' format. Call first.
The current version will usually be posted on the MicroSource bulletin board
for downloading any time. Have your modem dial 909-824-1500, followed by
",,,,,,,,,9" (9 commas and a number 9 to initiate communications) OR, have
your modem dial and wait for the voice mail message to end. The bulletin
board communications will automatically start after the phone greeting ends.
For faster access, after sending the registration fee, call for a verbal
authorization number to unlock the demo version you are now using. You can
reach MicroSource at 909-824-1500. Registration also entitles you to a free
copy of any new release of the program after an enhancement has been added.
What other software offers you such a deal!
Registration is $10.00 per PC installed. If you would like to install on
multiple machines, you may call for a reduced rate.
Since I use the program myself, I have endeavored to make it as easy,
flexible and practical as possible. However, I would never say that the
program is completely finished. Therefore, I encourage any comments or
suggestions regarding the program, and I will try to incorporate them
into the next revision.
Thanks, Mike
